I’m currently working on a residential extension project in Burwood. Due to the cost of materials increasing recently, my clients have asked for me to be weary of costs. In Australia we have adapated and interpreted this style to suit our culture, weather, and personal preferences for example the colour blue and the use of natural materials such as rattan.

I’m looking at budget materials such as laminate to get the Hamptons look my clients want on a buget.
Laminex and Polytec have beautiful faux marble options that can be used for both counter tops and splashbacks. I especially love the idea of a marble look splashback without grout for that sweeping dramatic feature.
In my research I also noticed that subway tiles are a key feature of Hamptons style. For a twist I’m considering beveled subways for my client’s bathroom. The beveled aspect of the tile definitely gives the good ol’ subway a luxe lift.

Think about tiered stands, ceramic tableware, coastal style tea towels and a jug or vase with flowers such as chrysanthemums.
