Around Christmas time I indulge and buy some high quality homewares for myself. For example, I recently bought myself a gorgeous sculptural candle. When Christmas shopping of course I think of the person I’m buying for. But I think most people will appreciate a good quality piece of home décor. So here are my three best homewares Christmas gifts.
Chopping boards
Timber chopping boards have become a statement piece. I know on a daily basis we probably use plastic chopping boards. However, a timber chopping board is great for entertaining.
We use ours for the usual food items you see on a chopping boards such as antipasto and cheese.
But I also like to keep cut slices of sourdough with a small bowl of delicious butter on mine. Olive oil with vinegar is also a treat to dip a piece of sourdough bread in. Add a small vase of rosemary and the chopping board looks fab.
So I think a good quality timber chopping board would make a great Christmas gift. Look for chopping boards with a slight twist in shape, handle or reclaimed timber.
Sculptural candle holder
Above I mentioned I bought myself a sculptural candle but a sculptural candle holder is equally striking.
A piece that has an interesting shape, colour or material makes a statement. For a dining table setting or styling on a bookcase.
You can also use a sculptural candle holder for minimal yet sophisticated coffee table style.
It’s definitely an item that your friends may not buy for themselves. However, it will elevate the aesthetic in their home if they like a styled home.
Linen
Anything linen makes a great gift. For my neighbour I bought a linen body wash cloth, made in Japan.
Linen has become so affordable, in my own bedroom and Airbnb I prefer linen bedding. But as a Christmas gift you can’t go wrong with 100% French linen napkins.
I think most people would value the quality of a gift made from linen. And the great thing about linen is it suits both casual and luxe styles.
Everyone has to buy gifts for people they may not know so well. Extended family, neighbours or work colleagues. So I think these three best homewares Christmas gifts are ideal to make a lasting impression.
