One thing I love about interior design are all the different interpretations of a particular style. We know Scandinavian interior design works well with a neutral colour scheme but neutral can mean different things for different people.
A neutral colour scheme could be grey, beige, white or black, white grey. I’ve taken the black, white, grey colour direction for this Scandi inspo board.
The Focal Pieces
We begin with the focal piece of any living room, the sofa, I’ve selected the Sienna for it’s slim line and grey colour.
To accompany the Sienna sofa is the Maxen Coffee Table in black, now we’ve introduced this colour, so we need to repeat this again in some other pieces.
A rug cements these focal pieces and here I’ve chosen the Winthorpe rug for its colours and lines. The thin line replicate the slim line sofa but offers interests due to their varying directions.
To complement the focal pieces we have a few more black pieces such as the goats hair cushions, they provide a really nice textural element as well.
The arched floor lamp, in black, introduces a curved line we see again in the ottoman.
And finally, but importantly the print which thematically and in colour, connects back to the goats hair cushions.
For the finishing touches we have a fairly neutral white but highly textural throw and some candles for the coffee table, trying some magazines and a plant to complete the accessories for the coffee table.
My Favourite Pieces
My favourites pieces in this monochrome Scandinavian interior design, are the Sienna sofa is classic and a good long lasting purchase. I love the fun factor of the goats hair cushion and the rug makes a subtle statement.
