Industrial Living with Feminine Touch

Industrial Living with Feminine Touch

Another industrial style living room buyable board I created focused on a traditional colour palette of black and brown. With this industrial living room buyable inspo board, I wanted to add a feminine touch through colour and texture. Industrial interior style doesn’t always have to be masculine.

The Focal Pieces

The Wilford sofa is the focal piece of this industrial style living room. At first I thought the black framing was metal but actually it’s wood. For me this ticks two boxes in that black is an industrial colour, as is wood an industrial texture, but the wood adds warmth the metal doesn’t.

I also like the horizontal, and rectangular shape of this piece. When I work with clients I use a curved line to add a feminine touch but in this buyable inspo board the horizontal lines remain important.

Which lead me to the next focal piece the black velvet arm chair with gold legs. I love the shape of the arm chair it complements the sofa really well. But the colour and texture add interest.

The next focal piece is the coffee table. I chose this piece because I need to repeat the wood material and because I need some metal in this industrial moodboard.

The Complementary Pieces

So far the pieces are ‘boxy’ so the complementary pieces in this buyable inspo board is how I achieved balance and a feminine touch. Let’s start the cowhide rug with a hint of pink. Cowhide features in industrial style interior design but it’s the hint of pink which adds a feminine twist.

More texture is added with the goats hair cushions in pink. Warmth is increased through the tripod floor lamp and the floral prints add pattern to soften the hard lines.

My Favourite Piece

The black velvet arm chair is my favourite piece in this industrial style living room. On its own it makes a solid statement. I love pieces like that.
